Maryella’s Birthday

Today is Maryella‘s 13th birthday. She should be here to celebrate. She would be so excited to be a teenager.

It isn’t right that she isn’t here, and it never will be.

Please think of Maryella today and wish her a happy birthday. If you can, do something kind, play with a dog, read something you enjoy, spend time with a friend, sing a song, or tell someone you love them. These were some of her favorite things. Oh, and of course, eat some ice cream.

Hannibal Central School District

Students in the Hannibal Central School District will be able to hone their reading abilities thanks to a donation from Annal’s Angels.

The nonprofit organization was created to honor two local children, Maryella and Elizabeth Annal, who passed away in an automobile accident on the New York State Thruway in September 2020.

“Both girls loved to share with others, and Maryella especially loved to read,” said the girls’ mother, Maureen. “One of the projects of Annal’s Angels is to share books and the love of reading with others.”

That love of reading will carry on at Fairley through Annal’s Angels, as more than 200 new titles were presented to students in Emily Casper’s class and were added to the shelves of the school’s existing library.

“The books donated today are from several book drives that have been held in honor of Maryella and Elizabeth,” Mrs. Annal said, noting that the donation to Mrs. Casper’s class was particularly meaningful. “Emily Casper and her husband Ben spent five summers watching the girls, as well as being cousins. Because of the special connection with Emily and Ben, we wanted to share Annal’s Angels books with her school.”

Palmer Elementary Bench

In 2021, during the Neighborhood summer parade these 3 girls organized and pulled off a bake sale to put a bench at Palmer to remember their friends Maryella and Elizabeth. The bench will be installed soon. They not only got to do the bench but also the extra funds($2500) were donated to the Annal's Angels for library fund. They could not have done it without your awesome support. Thank you!

Elmcrest Book Delivery

Elmcrest: Building on the promise of children and families.

In June 2017, Maryella and Elizabeth’s Girl Scout troop visited Elmcrest Children's Center and brought birthday bags that they had filled for the children that live there. Our troop was able to tour one of the cottages and learn about the residential services Elmcrest provides for children who have been removed from their home.

Because of this prior connection and knowing what a great organization Elmcrest is, they were first on our list for book deliveries! We met with Kelly Ventre, Elmcrest /Small Wonders Daycare Coordinator and Chris Iven, Director of philanthropy at Elmcrest Children’s Center. We enjoyed touring the center and donating books to the daycare center and the campus library that serves kids in kindergarten through 12th grade. We brought Elmcrest over 700 books thanks to your generosity!

Your generosity in honor of Maryella and Elizabeth is making a difference!

Baldwinsville Library

It all begins with an idea.

We have been quiet on social media, but we have been very busy behind the scenes. Take a sneak peek at some of our plans that we have been working on with the Baldwinsville Library and in-Architects. We are very excited about working with our local library to refresh our children’s area, while honoring Maryella and Elizabeth.
